Admissions Policy

Admissions Policy

Fair, transparent, and merit-based selection.

The London School of Business is committed to admitting students who have the potential to succeed and benefit from our programmes. Our admissions process is holistic, considering academic potential, motivation, and relevant experience.

1. Principles of Admission

We adhere to the principles of fair admission as set out by the Schwartz Report (2004). This means our processes are transparent, reliable, and valid. We aim to minimize barriers to applicants and ensure that all candidates are treated with courtesy and respect.

2. Selection Criteria

Selection is based on a combination of the following factors:

  • Academic Qualifications: Meeting the minimum entry requirements for the specific programme.
  • Personal Statement: Demonstrating motivation, commitment, and suitability for the course.
  • References: Academic or professional references attesting to the applicant's ability.
  • Interview Performance: Where applicable, performance in a structured interview.

3. English Language Requirements

All instruction at LSB is in English. Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency. We typically require an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with no component below 6.0) for undergraduate programmes, and 7.0 for postgraduate study. Equivalent qualifications (e.g., TOEFL, PTE) are also accepted.

4. Contextual Admissions

We recognize that potential is not always reflected in exam grades alone. We use contextual data to understand the background of our applicants, taking into account factors such as school performance and socio-economic background. This ensures we identify talent from all walks of life.
